My sister and I visited the Village of Bath several summers ago to see the house where our grandfather, John Gregory Hoselton lived and his father. When relatives, took us to the museum, then housed in what was once a church, we were delighted. Of special interest to us was a sideboard made by our great-grandfather, Hiram Hoselton, and a notation in a ledger of purchases he made for his carpenter shop. I hope the move has inabled you to have more room for displays and the opportunity to utilize all the technology available for preserving history. I would very much like to visit again. What a jewel of a museum! Most articles have been donated and the breadth of the artifacts is surprising: from three cases of First Peoples exhibits to Occupational tools of shoemakers, farmers, barbers, cabinet-makers,to a General Store to the War of 1812, World Wars I and II, to children's toys. Currently there are two temporary displays: one of Dinky and Matchbox toys and one of Funeral Practices of the 1800's including a coffin made in Bath. Memberships are a bargain! There is also plenty of research material, particularly regarding UELs, and a most informative video of the history of the Bath/Loyalist Township area. Well worth a visit from time to time.
