Pop. 282. In Raleigh T., Kent C., on L. Erie and Hwy 3,23 km. SE of Chatham.
The post office opened in 1831 as Erieus, a clerical error since the name was supposed to have been Erieus after L. Erie.
The error was corrected the next year, but then the post office closed for a time. When it reopened in 1875 it was given the name Ouvry.
Residents petitioned to have the name Erieus restored but officials responded by naming the post office Dealtown, after Deal in England.
