- Pop. 32. In Glenelg T., Grey C. on the Styx R. and Hwy 6 & C. Rd. 25, 32 km SE of Owen Sound.
- John J. McIntosh was the first settler in the area in 1842 and is believed to have brought the first sheep and cattle to the county
- The place was first known as Latona and then Griffin's Corners after Bartholomew Griffin built the first store.
- In 1852 John McIntosh's son Phillip became the first postmaster and named the place Dornoch after his father's birthplace in Scotland.
