- Pop. 1,451. In Cavan T., Peterborough c., on Baxter Cr., a tributary of the Otonabee R. and C. Rds. 10 & 21, 21 km. SW of Peterborough.
- First settler John Dyell came from Ireland in 1816, cleared a farm and built a mill by the brook, giving Millbrook its name.
- A fire in 1876 destroyed all the buildings on the north side of King St.; the school burned down in 1887, and the town and township hall suffered the same fate a year or two later.
- The first mounted band in Canada was formed in Millbrook in 1875. The Light Cavalry Band was connected with the Prince of Wales Dragoons.
