Description From Owner:

Pop. 509. In Kingston T., Frontenac C., on C. Rd. 2, 11 km NW of Kingston. The community was first known as Slab City because the local mill produced fine slabs of wood for building early houses.
Slabs are the first cuts from logs. William Marshall, a brewer and farmer, was acquainted with Lord William Westbrooke, and when the post office was established in 1860, Marshall suggested the community be named Westbrooke after him.
The first post office was called West Brook. In 1950 the name was contracted to Westbrook.
