In Muskoka Lakes T., Dist. Mun.of Muskoka, N of L. Rosseau, 32 km W of Huntsville.
The area was settled in the 1870s by Icelanders who came to escape poverty and take up Free Grant lands. Within a few years most relocated to Manitoba where the government had originally agreed to settle them.
